"I anoint my head with oil." 1 or 2 drops of this aromatic sweet smelling oil can be used during prayers, supplication, and meditation. This oil can be consecrated however you choose. This light and fragrant oil can be used as perfume and can be beneficial when used as a scalp oil 2-3 times a week. Oneida's Hair Journey
I shall wear a crown. I am wearing a crown. As a young black girl, I used to think our hair wouldn't grow long. If some of my black friends had long hair, I believed it just had to do with genetics, or they were probably "mixed." When I was older and began to understand black hair (particularly my hair), I understood my hair was fragile and needed tender loving care. Basically, I learned how to care for my hair the correct way for me. In 2009, I cut my hair to about one inch. Since then, I've never used another chemical in my hair. I also understood that moisturizing my hair regularly with water was my hair's friend, rather than an enemy. Hydration for my hair (inside and out) is a very important ingredient in maintaining strong healthy hair. I'm not saying anyone has to walk the same journey I'm walking. I personalized what I needed to do for my hair. There was a biblical scripture concerning a woman's hair that I had heard my whole life. I never had anyone to explain to me where I and many other black women fit into that scripture. As I was reading it one day, I wondered why it did not apply to me. Then I realized it does apply to me and all women of every color and ethnicity. Our hair is our glory, no matter the texture, the color, or the length. I just reinterpreted the scripture as a lot of people do when it comes to various texts. I just omitted the word "long." Otherwise, the words would be discriminatory towards some women. Simple.
In 2015, I turned water into wine. I began mixing hair oils and herbs to come up with creations that I felt comfortable using on my low-porosity hair. Through a lot of trial and error, doing research, tweaking and recalculating, I came up with hair recipes--blessings for my hair. I created Oneida's Glory Eleven Fifteen Hair Nourishment Oil, a rich, yet light and invigorating hair oil that can be used on all hair types and textures. And I created Anointing is Essential Oil for use during prayers, supplication, and meditation, and this sweet smelling anointing oil can also be used as a scalp oil or perfume. After I realized I had a gift to turn water into wine, I wanted to share my creations with my fellow goddesses. Men can use the products as well. My hair products can be used on all hair types and textures. If it's curly, wavy, straight, coily, short, mid-length, or long, you can use these products.
